Well, the other day we got a call from our friends to ask if we could lend a hand to move the wagon out ready to be fitted to its wheels and its next stage of work.
I took some photos to show you the progress. ABOVE - some of the intricate painting on the wheel spokes, all hand painted.
BELOW - the back wheels (on the left) are huge and the front wheels have a turntable on the top for steerage. You'll need a staircase to get in and out of the wagon. In all it will be almost 4 metres tall when finished.
Note the gorgeous sash windows and the letter box in the front door. Such attention to detail and craftmanship - its a beauty to behold.
Its so much work, so intricate and so many man hours to build it, but it will be stunning when its finished.
Cheers,
Sonya

I have such great memories of my BFF who had a abadoned gypsy caravan in her parents orchard picking damsons and playing house.
wow.
That's about all I can come up with.
Just WOW.
Please keep the updates on the wagon coming. It is my dream since I was a small child to one day to travel Australia in my own gypsy wagon. It's very inspirational to watch the progress of someone else's dream and know it is possible.
Sonya I remember when you first posted about this wagon. It is truly, truly stunning. I can't imagine how many hours it must have taken to build. The obvious love and care that has gone into it... geez, can you tell I love it!!
I would love to know what the clients are going to do with it. The idea of travelling around in it, just sounds incredibly romantic.... and very Enid Blyton :-)
Wow, That is a nice wagon. I have not seen one , in my long life.
Like your blog very much.
Thanks.
